Grace Lyons of South Haven High School Softball is our WSJM Sports Van Buren/Cass Student Athlete of the Week for the week of April 21, 2019.
Grace returned from an ankle injury and played in her first seven games of the season. In games against Paw Paw, Vicksburg, and at the Battle Creek Tournament, she went 10-19 at the plate with nine RBIs and five runs scored.
Grace is also a member of the South Haven Volleyball and Basketball teams, and National Honor Society. She also serves as a Private First Class in the National Guard. In the classroom, she carries a 3.5 grade point average.
Grace is the daughter of Kelly and Tom Lyons of South Haven.
Other finalists for the week were Jania Green of Decatur Track and Emily Baxter of Marcellus Softball.
