Craig Thompson of South Haven High School Track is our WSJM Sports Van Buren/Cass Student Athlete of the Week for the weeks of March 18, 2018.
At the Grand Valley State Invitational, Craig won the 800 Meter Dash, competing against Division 1 and Division 2 schools. He finished with a time of 2:01.24.
Craig is also a member of the Cross Country and Swim teams, qualifying for the state finals in both. Outside of sports, he is involved with the Orchestra and is also an Eagle Scout. In the classroom, he carries a 3.91 grade point average.
Craig is the son of Brian and Chris Thompson of South Haven.
Other finalists for the week were Dylan Matheny of Lawrence Baseball and Grace Lyons of South Haven Softball.
