Christian McCaffrey scored twice for the 49ers. They lost their second straight game for the first time in a 34-game stretch and fell to 5-2. The Vikings improved to 3-4. NFL – The Lions are going back to the basics after their lopsided loss to the Ravens
Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell says he plans to go back to the basics after his team was routed at Baltimore. The Lions have an extra day to prepare for their next game. They host the Las Vegas Raiders next Monday night. Campbell says his team will spend more practice time on fundamentals. He also says his decision to lighten practice last week ahead of the Ravens game backfired. The Lions are 5-2 and still lead the NFC North.

NFL – Rookie Tyson Bagent will likely start again for Bears with Justin Fields doubtful
Rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent likely will start his second straight game when the Chicago Bears visit the Los Angeles Chargers this week. Coach Matt Eberflus says Bagent is in line to be behind center again with Fields doubtful to play because of a dislocated right thumb. Bagent delivered a steady performance in a 30-12 victory over Las Vegas on Sunday. Undrafted after a record-setting career at Division II Shepherd University in West Virginia, he led three touchdown drives in his first start, and the Bears won for the second time in three games after losing 14 in a row.

García, the ALCS MVP, went deep for the fourth straight game and set a record for RBIs in a postseason series with 15 as the road team took every game. Corey Seager got things started for the Rangers with a long home run in the first inning. Nathaniel Lowe also connected for Texas — one of six major league teams without a World Series title. After winning their Lone Star State showdown with defending champion Houston, the wild-card Rangers open the World Series at home Friday night against Arizona or Philadelphia.
