Sydney Barnes, a Senior from South Haven High School, and member of the girls golf team, is the winner of the Mid-West Family Player of the Week award for the week of October 11, 2021.
Sydney finished atop the KVA Standings with a 7-round 9-hole average of 42.7. And last week in the Division 4 regional tournament, Sydney shot a 90 to secure her a spot in the in the State Tournament for a second consecutive season.
The State tournament will begin on Friday, October 15 at Forest Akers East in East Lansing, Michigan.
Sydney is also a member of the South Haven Orchestra and Marching Band.
In the classroom, Sydney carries an impressive 4.25 GPA.
While not yet official, Sydney is currently planning on attending Calvin College in Grand Rapids to study Chemistry and “hopefully” continue playing as well.
