Student Athlete Of The Week – May 1, 2015

Ashton Holdridge of Watervliet High School Baseball is Berrien County’s Student Athlete of the Week for the week of April 19, 2015. In the Panthers’ win over Marcellus, Ashton threw a no-hitter while striking out 12 batters. For the week at the plate, he collected four hits, two RBIs, two stolen bases, and two runs scored in games against Marcellus and Eau Claire.

Ashton recently signed a national letter of intent to play baseball at Arkansas Pine Bluff next year. He has also been awarded the top prize at an area high school art show. In the classroom, he carries a 3.5 grade point average.

Ashton is the son of Ken and Brandi Dietz of Hartford.

Other finalists for the week were Nick Knowlton of Bridgman Golf, Anna Fischer of St. Joe Track, and Riley VanPelt of New Buffalo Track.
