South Haven’s Olds Steps Down As Boys’ Basketball Coach

Story by Jacob Holmes

South Haven High School varsity boys’ basketball coach Jamin Olds is resigning from the position after five years. Olds will be stepping down to focus on his duties as the school’s athletic director and as a teacher.

“It became a challenge to both be a coach and fulfill my duties as athletic director,” Olds said.

Under Olds, the Rams had a 70-43 record, and played in the Class B regional finals in the 2012-2013 season.

South Haven is already seeking potential candidates for the coaching position. “We’re looking for someone to put a lot of time into our kids,” Olds said. “We want them to be able to help the kids play to their strengths, which I feel we’ve done a good job of here.”

South Haven went 11-9 last year, and is looking to become one of the area’s top teams in the coming years.
