Southwestern Michigan College announced last year they were bringing back their athletics program after 25 years with Cross Country this fall. Tuesday, SMC announced the return of four more sports, men’s and women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, and men’s wrestling. Those four sports will return in the fall of 2022. The Roadrunners home games will be played at the Charles O. Zollar Building on the Dowagiac campus following a $2-million renovation. SMC is also looking to be reinstated to the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA), who has nearby opponents in Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor, Glen Oaks Community College in Centreville, Kalamazoo Valley Community College in Kalamazoo, Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, and Ancilla College in Donaldson, Indiana.
