Romeo Lopez of Decatur High School Football is our WSJM Sports Van Buren/Cass Student Athlete of the Week for the week of September 15, 2019.
Romeo turned in 12 tackles, including a 4th down stop on the two yard line, in the Raiders 17-0 win over Marcellus. The week before, he recorded 14 tackles and a forced fumble.
Romeo is also a member of the Decatur Wrestling team. In the classroom, he carries a 3.2 grade point average.
Romeo is the son of Manuel and Jessica Lopez of Decatur.
Another finalist for the week was Ella O’Sullivan of South Haven Volleyball.
