High school basketball results from Tuesday night…

Boys

Benton Harbor 73, Dowagiac 59
The Tigers scored the first 14 points of the game on their way to the 73-59 win over the Chieftains. Benton Harbor built that lead to 18 before Dowagiac pulled to with seven in the third quarter. That’s as close as the Chieftains would get though. Carlos Johnson led the Tigers with a game high 28 points, Quindarius Davis added 18. Dashawn Brooks led Dowagiac with 19 points.

Lakeshore 59, South Haven 36
The Lancers benefitted from a balanced attack, led by Ben Brower’s 18 points. J.J. Bushu added 14 points for Lakeshore with Ja’Kobe Young finishing with 11. Zander Russell scored 18 points in the loss for the Rams.

Three Rivers 76, Niles 67
Niles battled back from a 17 point third quarter deficit to pull to within three, but the rally fell short.

Marcellus 55, Lawrence 41
Brandon Lopez scored 16 points in the loss for the Tigers.

Gobles 62, Lawton 46
Hunter Tenbusschen led the Tigers with 15 points, five assists, four rebounds, and two steals. Gobles also got 12 points and 11 rebounds from Jake Getman, and 12 points and ten rebounds from Brady Burnell. “Our defensive intensity set the stage for the season,” said Gobles coach Scott Sherrod.

GIRLS

Okemos 53, St. Joe 43
The Chiefs ran out to an 11 point lead after the first quarter, forcing the Bears to play catch-up all night. Symone King scored 13 points in the loss for St. Joe with Cailynn Junk adding ten.

Lakeshore 40, South Haven 31
The Lancers controlled most of the game, earning their first win of the season. Morgan Tillman led Lakeshore with 12 points, Olivia Trivedi and Riley Pifer added eight and six points respectively.

Michigan Lutheran 71, Howardsville Christian 12
The Titans dominated early, taking a 47-5 lead into the half.  Mara Rugen netted 19 points for the Titans, Hailey Conrad added ten.

Berrien Springs 56, Lawrence 36
The Shamrocks ran out to a ten point lead after the first quarter and built it to a 20 point advantage at the half. Zoe Dortch poured in 16 points for Berrien Springs with Hillary Dortch adding 14. Catalina Mancera scored a game high 17 points in the loss for Lawrence.

Decatur 44, Mendon 22
Decatur took control early, leading 27-12 at the half. Regan Rose paced the Raiders with a game high ten points.
