Shawn Hopkins of Benton Harbor High School Basketball is the 
WSJM Sports Berrien County Student Athlete of the Week for the week of February 25, 2018. In the Tigers’ win over Wyoming, Shawn scored 14 points to go along with five assists and 12 rebounds. The previous week, he led the Tigers with 15 points in a win over South Haven.
Shawn is also a member of the Benton Harbor football and track teams, and is active with the Boys and Girls club along with Jobs For Michigan Grads. In the classroom, he carries a 4.2 grade point average.
Shawn is the son of Tina Johnson and Shawn Hopkins Sr.
Other finalists for the week were Carlos Johnson of Benton Harbor basketball and Alycia Patterson of Niles basketball.
